The History Behind the Man
Over thirty years experience in all aspects of music entertainment…. as a classical, jazz, rock and pop pianist, bandmember, keyboard/music teacher, music/karaoke DJ, composer, studio musician, vocalist, record and music video producer, music instrument product manager, sound system and home studio designer.
Entertainment business experience
Classically (piano) trained beginning age 4.
Began professional entertainment career as club/restaurant pianist at age 14.
Wrote and produced stage musical/rock opera “Dreamin’” at age 16.
Studied jazz/improvisation and music theory with noted Julliard graduate (Mehegan method)
Arranger, keyboardist/accompanist and band leader for musical theater productions.
25+ years experience in night club and restaurant entertainment, including live bandmember and disc jockey.
Keyboardist for reunion ensemble band “Hollywood Argyles” (known for the number-one hit Alley Oop).
Synthesizer programmer for numerous pro recordings sessions, including Judy Roberts, Joe Sample, and Toto (on Toto IV).
Producer, session musician and recording engineer for Hawaiian ethnic folk group “Hawaiian Heart”, culminating in achievement of a number one album in the genre.
General music business experience
Piano and music theory instructor since 1983 (children, teens and adult).
Owner and founder of “PrepareForStardom”, serving beginner and experienced piano students and singers aspiring to be professional entertainers.
Over twenty years experience in electronic music, audio/recording, record engineering, sound system design, acoustics, computer software.
Musical Instrument industry veteran, holding key product development, marketing and training positions at Yamaha International, Kurzweil Music Systems, and Bose Corporation.
Corporate liaison to Yamaha’s Music Education Centers for three years.
Co-founder of “Key Clique”, the first-ever synthesizer music software developer for the DX/FM instrument line, and the predecessor to all PC computer-based sound generation technology.
Production experience—studio synth programming, keyboards, mixdown/engineering, audio mastering, live sound/lighting, audio/video/multimedia production, video production and post-production, web design, film and videogame music scoring and sound effects.
